Al began his career as a retail flooring storeowner in the 1970s. After several years cutting carpet and vinyl manually, he came up with the idea for a flooring material cutting machine customized to the needs of the retail flooring market. His goal was to make the task faster, simpler and so increase the efficiency of retail flooring store operations.

In the mid 1980s, he developed and tested several prototypes of his new cutting technology. With the launch of the innovative MK-1 and his new company, EZ Cut Inc. in 1986, Al’s goal of helping retail storeowners become more efficient was realized. With nearly 6,000 machines in operation worldwide, today EZ Cut Inc.. is the industry leader in carpet and vinyl cutting equipment.

With his wife, Gelinda, Al enjoys travel and spending time with their grandchildren.
